Going through my Bible reading 4th time round and am learning a lot. This time doing combination of Old and New Testament of a wonderful translation (the New Living Translation). Read 1 Kings 1-3 last night. Some of the sub-headings include:

David in His Old Age, Adonijah Claims the Throne, David Makes Solomon King, Davids Final Instructions to Solomon, Solomon Establishes His Rule, Solomon Asks for Wisdom, and Solomon Judges Wisely.

The key verses that stood out to me were 1 Kings 3:9-10  "Give me an understanding mind so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great nation of yours? The Lord was pleased with Solomon's reply and was glad that he had asked for wisdom. " (NLT)

Wisdom: An understanding mind so that I can govern people well and know the difference between right and wrong (A wonderful perspective from 1 Kings 3:9, NLT).
