What a privilege to be back to work after a day of rest yesterday (Australia Day public holiday). Currently having lunch and blogging at the same time

Was just reminded by thams last night that its time for another entry .... so here we go...

A few things which I've been pondering upon this new year... from the heart... one of them is with relationships.... how timely that I attended a cell group 2 days ago on Tuesday.... the lesson was about trust, ... trust in God... After a powerful sharing by Tip, the 13 of us moved into 3 separate groups for personal sharing and prayer... I was in a group of 4, ... the question that we were to ponder upon and answer was "What is the *most* important thing you need to trust God with"? Was going to share about some other thing but the word "most" stood out again and again as the others were sharing in the group. One person in the group shared about his need to trust God to provide a life-partner. He is 22 years of age. Sincere sharing. I, also still single, just about to turn a quarter of a century old on 23rd Feb 05, decided to share from my heart too, ... I first began sharing a story....

A couple of weeks ago I was in Malaysia, as a best-man to a friend's wedding in KK (http://www.xanga.com/item.aspx?user=lotusutol&tab=weblogs&uid=194335885). A few days after the wedding, Sheong (thams) (the brother of the groom) and I went to KL for a couple of days. The 2nd day we were there, 3 power generators stopped functioning and a big power blackout swept through the city. We were in a big shopping centre (KLCC) at that time. Power blackout for a few hours. We travelled to another place to have lunch, power came back after the few hours. After lunch, we dropped by at the largest shopping centre in south-east Asia, being Megamall. Within the first 10 minutes of our brief walk through the shopping centre, power blacked out again. Lights went out. Sheong was in the toilet. Complete darkness there. I was stuck in a lift by myself. Only thing I could see in the lift was a red "emergency" sign with a button. Tried to hit the open-door button but obviously the door would not open without power. I panicked. Could not speak Malay. So just pressed the button and called for help. No answer. Very scary. With the thought of the previous power blackout lasting for a few hours, I didn't know how long I will be stuck in this confined space. Finally after a minute of panic and relying on my own strength, I decided to call on God for help. Trust. Do I really trust my God to get me out. I called on God, telling Him that I want to completely trust him... I trust that You will get me out of this lift. Thankfully, the power came back within about 3 minutes, not 3 hours. How thankful I was for that experience ..... a lesson I believe did not happen by chance but God wanted to reaffirm to me to trust Him. To trust Him with my life. To trust Him with my life-partner. So I continued sharing with the group of 4....

There was a girl whom I admired. Got to know her through a year in a Bible Study group. I was interested in this girl. Committed her to God and to parents. A close friend knows I like her. She still had many more years of studies to go. So in considering her interest at heart, to allow her to enjoy her season of singleness while she goes through many more years of university studies, I decided to wait and not to start a relationship with her. So I waited. I was posted to a site near Newman township about 2 hours flight from Perth for about 7 months, but got to come home to Perth every 3rd weekend. After the 7 months, God provided another job in Perth city! Then discovered that another guy had asked her out during that time. I thought she was the one for me. I was dissapointed. It was then I realised that I had not completely trusted God for a life-partner.

After each of us shared our most important thing to trust God with, we had a great time of committing our needs to God in prayer. Why do we need to trust God? Because He created us. He knows us and has a purpose for us. May I completely trust my life to Him and allow Him to fulfull His purpose in my life. May this long season of singleness be an enjoyable one glorifying to God. May I continue to remember things that I'm able to do with greater focus while single, such as the recent short term missions trip last year for example (July 2004) to Thailand and China (Yunnan province), organised by a member of Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF), who came along with us. It was a truly enjoyable time, especially with the group of people I went with. In 2003, praise God for the opportunity of leading a Bible Study group. And prior to that I continue to remember and thank God for my season of singleness as I was able to focus on my Civil Engineering studies at university, and by God's grace did really well in my final year engineering project and thesis in 2002, obtained first-class honours in Civil Engineering, and was awarded 2 prizes at the University of Western Australia. To God be the glory!

Happy New Year 2005! My good friend, Sheong (thams) and I and a dozen or so others had an interesting Karaoke session at Utopia, Northbridge last night heralding in the New Year. My first time with Karaoke .... I sung a couple of songs .... one secular and one Christian song, namely "I Swear, ...... I'll be there.... for better or worse, till death do us part.... I'll love you with every beat of my heart.... I Swear...."  *and*  "Just Let Me Say How Much I Love You, let me speak of your mercy and grace, just let me live in the shadow of your beauty, let me see you face to face.... And the earth will shake, as your Word goes forth, and the heavens can tremble and fall... but let me say how much I love You, O my Saviour, my Lord and friend....". Indeed although the earth shakes, recent quake killing in excess of 120,000 and rising, what a privilege to have Jesus Christ as our Saviour, our Lord and friend....  Photos posted soon. .... Back to public speaking preparation for Weng Tham and Rebecca's (lotusutol) wedding!

    VISION, PROPHECY, REVELATION

    FIRST ANGEL

    http://www.biblelandmission.org/htm/vision.htm
    by Rev Samuel Doctorian
"I am the angel of China," he said, "India, Australia." In his hand I saw a tremendous trumpet, not a small one, but a long big one. He was going to blow it all over Asia. So whatever the angel said, it's going to happen with the trumpet of the Lord, all over Asia. Millions are going to hear the mighty voice of the Lord. Then the angel said, "There shall be disasters, starvation, many will die from hunger. Strong winds will be loosened like never happened. A great part will be shaken and destroyed. Earthquakes all over will take place. The sea will cover the earth. The earth will fall in the sea. Great part of Australia will be shaken. Australia will be divided, destroyed. Great part will go under the ocean. Millions will die in China and in India. Nations will be against nations, brother against brother. Asians will fight each other. Nuclear weapons shall be used killing millions." I heard the word 'catastrophic' used twice. "Financial crisis will come all over Asia. It will shake the world." I was trembling while the angel was speaking.

Then he looked at me and smiled and said, "There shall be the greatest spiritual awakening. Bondages will be broken. Barriers will be removed. Millions in China, India, all over Asia will turn to Christ. In Australia there shall be tremendous revival."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The end is nearer! Christ is coming soon. Let's be ready.
Let's also pray for 1 million displaced people (without homes from this quake of 8.9 richter scale) to commit their lives to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

     Four basic temperaments

The simplest popular typology is that associated with the ancient Greek and Roman physicians, Hippocrates and Galenus. They understood there to be four constituent 'humours' or liquids in the human body which influenced temperament. Thus they named the four types sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic, after these humours. The four types may be easily described: sanguine—the bubbly people person, choleric—the organized decision maker, melancholic—the temperamental creative, and phlegmatic—the peace-loving hippy. An individual's profile is a blend of these, with most people being dominant in only one or two types. This is only useful in the very broadest sense — cholerics make good managers, sanguine/phlegmatics are generally better counsellors, and so on — but it is still a useful set of descriptions.
